Srinagar:  Police in Sopore have attached 4 kanals and 2 marlas of orchard land belonging to two “proclaimed offenders” Afroz Ahmad War, son of Mohammad Maqbool War, and Maqsood Ahmad War, son of Sona-u-llah War, both residents of Warpora Sopore under Survey numbers 3225, 3950, 3956 and 2384 in Estate Warpora Sopore.

This action is connected to case FIR No. 28/2008 U/S 2/3 EMCO, 120B, 121 IPC and 7/24 Arms Act, police said, adding the attachment was executed under the provisions of Sections 82, 83 of CRPC, by a team of police and Revenue officials, after receiving approval from competent authority.

In a double-storey under-construction residential house belonging to Abdul Majeed Bhat, son-in-law of Mohammad Ahsan Ganaie, resident of Cheenigund, Srigufwara, spread over one Kanal of land and valued at ₹1 crore, has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, as it has been linked to proceeds from drug trafficking, police informed.

In Shopian also, police attached a double-storey residential house worth ₹22,17,827 lakhs and cash of Rs 14,52,100 lakhs belonging to Mudasir Ahmad Malik, Yawer Ahmad Malik and Shahid-ul-Islam Malik, sons of Ghulam Mohd Malik of Melhura Zainapora. The action was taken under section 68-E read with 68-F(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive in the district, police informed.
