Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, an official handout informed Saturday.
It said in Chanapora Srinagar, police intercepted a motorcycle (JK01AB-3331) with two persons on board. During the search, a substantial quantity of drugs and narcotic substances was recovered from the possession of Shahrim Ansari, son of Tasleem Ansari; and Saqib Ansari, son of Sajad Ansari, both residents of Muzaffar Nagar UP, presently residing in Mandir Bagh area of Srinagar. Both people were arrested and their motorcycles were seized.
At Parigam in Pulwama, 11 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the possession of Solihat Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmed Wani of Parigam. The peddler was arrested.
Cases under relevant laws have been registered in respective police stations for further investigation.
