Jammu: One person was killed while five others were injured after their vehicle fell into a gorge in Kunda Dhar Ponda area of Doda district on Thursday.

According to officials, a car (JK02AD-8791) fell into a deep gorge, leaving a person dead and five others injured, who were rescued and shifted to GMC Doda by locals and police for treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Kavita Devi (15), while those injured have been identified as Sunny (13),  Sachan (15), Sanjana Devi (25), Sejal (23),  and Punjab Singh (42).

Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.

Meanwhile, in another accident a one person — Sandeep Singh, son of Youdhbir Singh, a resident of Gam Dakhi — died when his motorcycle (JK19A 3200) collided with a car (JK06B 5680) near a petrol pump in Mehad, Ramban, at around 6:20 PM. The car driver fled the scene.

His pillon mate Sandeep Singh, son of Kartar Singh of Suli Gam, was injured and has been shifted to District Hospital Ramban, JKNS reported.
