This year, IGNOU has introduced Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in disciplines such as Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry, and Facilities and Service Management.

Prospective students can choose from a network of study centres across the Kashmir Valley, including government degree colleges, SKIMS, NIELIT, Composite Regional Centre Srinagar, Kashmir University, and centres in the Union Territories of Kargil and Ladakh. The Regional Centre Srinagar also serves as a special study centre for programmes not available at other Learner Support Centres.

For students interested in information technology-based programmes like BCA, MCA, and MSCIS, NIELIT Srinagar is available as a study centre. NIELIT will also provide mentorship and training programs to support entrepreneurship among students in the IT and electronics sector.

Dr. A. H. Rizvi, Regional Director of IGNOU, stated that the extension of the admission and re-registration deadlines ensures that more learners can access educational opportunities.

In addition to fresh admissions, the last date for re-registration for January 2025 has been extended to 15th February 2025 for all programmes offered in ODL (Open and Distance Learning) and online modes. Students are encouraged to complete their re-registration for the 2nd or 3rd year of their programmes promptly, Dr. Rizvi added.

Prospective students and learners can visit the official IGNOU website at ignou.ac.in or the Regional Centre Srinagar’s website at rcsrinagar.ignou.ac.in for further details. For inquiries, they may contact the Regional Centre Srinagar directly.
