Srinagar: Police in Anantnag have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, an official handout informed Saturday.
Acting on specific information, police raided the residential house of one Hilal Ahmad Wani, son of Farooq Ahmad Wani at Kralgund Brah Mattan, and recovered four kgs of cannabis powder from there. Wani was arrested on the spot.
During checking near Tulkhan crossing, one Saber Ahmad Sheikh, son of Roni Sheikh, a resident of Delhi, was arrested and 14 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in both these instances for further investigation, police said.
