Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla, Budgam and Handwara, and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Baramulla, at Chak Limber, Boniyar one Ghulam Nabi Dar, son of Late Mohammad Subhan, resident of Babagail Limber, was arrested after 50 grams of contraband cannabis-like substances was recovered from his possession.
In Budgam, at Durbugh near Higher Secondary School Chadoora, a vehicle (JK01H-8720) driven by Sajad Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat of Gopalsaif Dedmaribagh Chadoora, was checked and from it police recovered 1.7 kgs of grinded cannabis-like narcotic substance. Bhat was arrested on the spot and vehicle seized.
In Handwara, at Chotipora one Khalid Bashir Lone, son of Bashir Ahmed Lone of Kahipora Kralgund, was arrested and 100.46 grams of contraband cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
