Srinagar: Police in Srinagar Friday said they have arrested a house-help (maid) involved in burglary and recovered stolen jewellery from her possession.
Acting on a complaint of Mst Aimen Akhzar, daughter of Peerzada Akhzar Hussain of Umerabad Srinagar, about theft at her parents’ house during the intervening night of 15/16 January 2025, police rounded up some suspects for questioning.
During the investigation, the role of a woman working as a maid — Janatul Begum, wife of Mohammad Chotu, resident of Ward No. 7 Kusthan Madhepur Bihar, at present HMT Srinagar – established in the theft, police said, adding that upon her disclosure, the stolen jewellery was also recovered.
