BANDIPORA: To further enhance healthcare services in the district, the District Hospital (DH) Bandipora has introduced a 24×7 CT scan facility.

This significant development is aimed at providing uninterrupted diagnostic services, thereby eliminating the need for patients to travel to Srinagar during night hours.

“This initiative will greatly benefit the residents of Bandipora, reduce the pressure on tertiary care hospitals, and ensure that patients receive timely and effective medical care,” said Medical Superintendent, DH Bandipora.

Adding to the milestone, DH Bandipora is also set to launch Contrast CT scans, a first for the district. This advanced diagnostic service will enable more precise and detailed imaging, catering to a wide range of medical needs. A radiologist will be available for on-the-spot reporting and diagnosis, ensuring prompt and accurate medical assessments.

He also revealed that the hospital conducted 2,062 CT scans during the daytime alone in the current financial year. With the launch of the 24×7 facility, this number is expected to increase significantly as the service will now be available during the night as well.

“This step is a game-changer for our district. It ensures that advanced diagnostic services are accessible to everyone, especially during emergencies,” said a local resident.

Meanwhile, in another heartwarming development, a certificate of completion of treatment for a clubfoot patient was issued at the hospital. The patient was born at DH Bandipora four months ago and diagnosed with clubfoot during screening by the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) at DH Bandipora.

Following her diagnosis, the patient was referred to a Consultant Orthopedician at DH Bandipora, who initiated her treatment. After a series of follow-up sessions and dedicated care, her treatment has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone for the patient and her family.

The DEIC at DH Bandipora has been instrumental in facilitating such treatments. Under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) scheme of the National Health Mission (NHM) Jammu and Kashmir, financial assistance of Rs.84,000 has been provided to 12 patients in the current financial year.

This achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of DH Bandipora and NHM J&K in transforming lives and reinforcing their commitment to community health.
