Power shutdown scheduled in Sgr and Safapora for maintenance works

Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in Srinagar and Safapora to facilitate essential maintenance and improvement works.

According to the Chief Engineer, KPDCL, the power supply will remain affected in areas fed by the 33kV Wanganpora-Khanyar and Wanganpora-Takenwari lines due to the reconductoring of the Khanyar-Rainawari line from 0.15 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR. The affected receiving stations include Khanyar, Rainawari, and Takenwari, along with the feeding areas of Miskeen Bagh, Rozabal, Maqdoom Sahib, Hazari Bagh, Jogilankar, JLNM Hospital, Kondalbal, Hassanabad, Palpora, Sangam, and Narwara. The shutdown is scheduled for January 9, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Additionally, in connection with stabilization and improvement works on the 33kV Badampora-Safapora Tap line and MLRI works at the Receiving Station Safapora, power supply will be disrupted in Safapora and adjoining areas. The affected locations include Safapora, Gratbal, Jarakobagh, and Manasbal. This shutdown is scheduled for January 11, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Residents of the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements and cooperate with the authorities during these essential maintenance activities to ensure a stable and improved power supply in the future.
