Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed optimism about the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir by centre soon.

Holding formal media interaction at SKICC here, Chief Minister Abdullah also stated that the promises made during election will be promised.

Omar further said that initially he and his colleagues thought the new government was difficult to run as it was totally different scenario as compared to 2009-2015 being a UT now but things have started to fall in place. It took some time to understand new rules of UT however not much difficulties are faced now, he said.

Omar also hoped that centre will soon restore the statehood of J&K as promised.

He said that all promises made to people during elections will be fulfilled. “We will implement them step by step.”
Omar replied several queries from media on different topics.

To a question about reservation, he reiterated that a panel of ministers has been formed and expressed optimism that “some solution” will definitely come out within 6 months.
Regarding Power Scenario in JK, he said that it has improved lot and expressed hope that it will improve more with the completion of “ongoing power projects”. (GNS)
