Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Sopore and Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Monday.
He said at Sofi Hamam (Sopore) police intercepted a vehicle (JK15-4531) with two persons onboard. Identified as Zahoor Ahmad Malla, son of Mohammad Maqbool Malla of Shercolony B, and Mohammad Shafi Gojri, son of Late Ghulam ud Din Gojri of Ningli Hatishah, both persons were arrested after 2 kgs and 12 grams of contraband poppy straw-like substance was recovered from their possession.
In Handwara, at Unisoo near Bed College one Abdul Rehman Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie of Zaloora, was arrested after 260 grams of contraband cannabis-like substance was recovered from him.
