Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah urged the divisional administration to promptly clear snow from all major routes and ensure the immediate restoration of electricity and water supplies.

Dr. Farooq highlighted the urgency of reopening roads that have been closed due to winter conditions, especially those leading to remote areas such as Tangdhar, Machil, Karnah, Gurez, Pahalgam, Marwah, Madwan, and Kishtwar. He also called for the reinstatement of helicopter services to these regions to facilitate connectivity and aid delivery.

Expressing gratitude for the timely snowfall, Dr. Farooq said, “The recent snowfall is a blessing; however, it has brought challenges that we must address promptly to alleviate the hardships faced by our people.”

Meanwhile, Party General Secretary and MLA Khanyar, Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, has urged the Srinagar district administration to expedite snow clearance operations within the city’s interior areas and ensure that drainage systems are functioning properly to prevent waterlogging.

Sagar also expressed deep sympathies for the victims of the recent fire incident at Khanyar. He appealed to the Divisional Commissioner and the District Commissioner for the immediate rehabilitation of those affected, stressing the need for swift administrative action to support the victims during this difficult time.
