JAMMU: The MSME Development & Facilitation Office, a field office of the Union Ministry of MSME, implements various schemes and activities for the benefit of the MSME Sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
The activities include an Entrepreneurship Awareness Program, Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Program, Procurement Marketing Support Scheme Awareness Program, PM-Vishwakarma Seminar, PM-Vishwakarma Awareness Workshop, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Program, Management Development Program, Reimbursement of Barcode Expenditure, Reimbursement of Stall Charges, To and From Charges, Advertising Expenditure for participating in various exhibitions conducted in all parts of the Country.
The PM Vishwakarma scheme is implemented in Jammu & Kashmir with the active participation of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
The scheme is meant for the upliftment of skilled artisans of all 18 trades who preserve the cultural identity and are part of the economy in J&K.
The scheme offers benefits like training with a stipend, a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh, the incentive of Re 1 towards the digital transaction and toolkits worth Rs 15,000. Around 4, 66,667 artisans are registered in J&K under the scheme and training has been completed at various centres across the districts of J&K.
As per the scheme guidelines toolkits are being given to the Vishwakarmas for enhancing their production levels with enhanced quality fetching better value for their products. The delivery of Toolkits is implemented with the assistance of India Post.
Started recently, a detailed road map has been laid for delivery of Tool Kits at the doorsteps of the artisan which includes showing the toolkit to the artisans by open delivery method and recording, uploading a video with 30 seconds duration before making payment to the vendor of the tool kit through DBT.
The UT has recorded delivery of 4701 toolkits against the total deliveries of 12,517 made in the country, which is way ahead of other bigger states. This has been made possible with timely follow-up in the implementation at all levels by G.Velladurai IEDS, Joint Director, MSME DFO, Jammu. As of date, the total number of certified artisans in J&K is 1, 50,828 and artisans who completed training with a stipend are 1,27,192. Total loan sanctions in the scheme are 10,806 artisans with a loan value of Rs 100 Cr Appx.
