DC Sgr presides over awareness camp under Mission YUVA at Harwan

SRINAGAR: In order to spread awareness about the Mission YUVA programme to promote entrepreneurship at the grassroots level, an awareness programme was held here at Harwan Block of Srinagar District.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat presided over the awareness programme organised by the District Employment Office in collaboration with District Administration Srinagar.

Besides, members of District Development Council Srinagar including Ali Mohammad, Shabir Ahmad, Mohammad Shaban and Shaista Jan, the awareness programme witnessed overwhelming participation of local youth.

Addressing the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the objectives of the Mission YUVA. He said an initiative had been launched by the government for creating new micro-enterprises, expanding existing ones & collectives, and promoting new enterprises based on innovative ideas in J&K with a view to creating sustainable employment opportunities at the grassroots level.

He added that the strategy is to build an ecosystem for developing an entrepreneurial culture, facilitate capacity building, and provide opportunities to create job providers rather than job seekers.

The DC also highlighted the importance of Mission Yuva in equipping young minds with essential skills and opportunities through door-to-door surveys for enhancing self-employment opportunities.

He urged the youth to adopt a proactive approach and take benefit from different self-employment schemes.

During the programme, experts elaborated on various aspects of Mission YUVA including the 4Cs including Culture, Capital, Capacity and Connectivity.

During the programme, a short video film was presented regarding the Mission YUVA.

The Awareness programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Syed Ahmad Kataria, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Commissioner Development, Syed Farooq Ahmad, Chief Agriculture Officer, Manohar Lal, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Abass, LDM, Nilofar Jan, BMO, Hazratbal, Dr Farah, BDO Harwan, Arif Ahmad and other senior Officer of various line Departments.
