2 held for burglary in Sopore

Srinaga: Police in Sopore have arrested two persons involved in burglary and recovered stolen property from their possession, police said in a statement here.

It said acting on a complaint about burglary at the house of one Ashiq Hussain Shah, resident of Brandub Rafiabad, during the intervening night of December 9-10, some suspects were called for questioning.

Two suspected persons later confessed their involvement in the theft. They have been identified as Zakir Hussain Shah, son of Khadim Shah, and Manzoor Ahmad Shah, son of Munawar Ahmad Shah, both residents of Brandub Rafiabad.

Both the accused have been arrested and on their disclosure stolen property including one gold ring, one pair of golden earrings, one golden nose pin and cash of ₹20,000 was recovered from their possession, police said.
