Director Animal Husbandry launches FMD-CP mass vaccination

SRINAGAR: Vaccination under the FMD-Control Programme of NADCP-V was launched today by the Director of Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Dr Parvinder Singh Sudan in a function held at Disease Investigation Laboratory Srinagar.

The program was attended by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Srinagar, Deputy Director (Poultry) and other officers of the district Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director Animal Husbandry Department urged all the field functionaries involved in the vaccination program for timely completion of vaccination and not to leave even a single eligible animal unvaccinated with 100% uploading on the National Digital Livestock Mission (NDLM) Portal on a daily basis.

The Director shared technical insight with the field workers about the right vaccination technique and insisted all the functionaries ensure the maintenance of the cold chain at all levels right from the lab to the farm.

He emphasised upon dedication regarding the implementation of WHO guidelines under one health concept.

The teams meant for vaccination in Srinagar district were flagged off in a ceremonial manner by the Director. The vaccination has simultaneously commenced in all the districts of the valley today and shall be conducted in a campaign mode.

Prevention of Animal Disease via vaccination has taken new dimensions in view of the large number of Zoonotic diseases transmissible to Humans and the emergence of new variants of pathogens.
