Drug peddler held in Budgam

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Budgam and Handwara and seized contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Sunday.

He said one namely Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Kareem Bhat of Nadigam (Soibugh, Budgam) was arrested during a raid at his home during which 14 kgs of cannabis powder was recovered.

At Kachwari Handwara, one Irshad Ahmad Sofi, son of Mohammad Ramzan Sofi of Bakiakher, was arrested and 100 grams of cannabis recovered from his possession.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
