MLA Gulmarg inaugurates New Auditorium Block at GHSS Khaipora

Tangmar: Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA Gulmarg, inaugurated a newly constructed auditorium block at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khaipora today.

The modern facility, built for Rs 1.54 crore, is a major step towards improving educational infrastructure in the area.

The event was attended by senior officials, including the Executive Engineer (Xen) from the R&B Division Pattan, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Tangmarg, and other dignitaries, along with students, teachers, and members of the local community.

Speaking at the inauguration, MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah expressed his commitment to the development of education in the Gulmarg constituency. He stated, “This auditorium is not just a building; it is a platform for students to explore their talents, learn, and grow. Our focus remains on creating opportunities for youth and improving facilities in every sector.” He assured that more such initiatives would follow to uplift education and infrastructure in Gulmarg Constituency.

The spacious auditorium is designed to host academic events, cultural programs, and student activities. It is equipped with modern features to support learning and creative expression.

In his speech, Farooq Ahmad Shah also paid tribute to Sher-e-Kashmir, the late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, and highlighted his remarkable contributions to the welfare of the people, particularly farmers. He described Sheikh Abdullah as a visionary and dynamic leader who championed the cause of education and worked tirelessly to ensure better opportunities for all, especially the underprivileged.

Later in the evening, MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah visited Village Mahyen to offer condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family. He spent time with the grieving family, prayed for the departed soul, and expressed his heartfelt support during their time of loss.
