“I have come to know that Vande Bharat sleeper train services will commence from January 25 next year in Kashmir. Further, once the railway line to Srinagar is operationalised, the people will be able to directly travel to Kashmir in the train. Anantnag which is also the district headquarters is the first important district in the Kashmir valley after Katra and stopping the train at Anantnag will help the people in the adjoining districts also.”

Being the elected representative of the Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency, “I would be really happy if the stoppage of the train is created at Anantnag district, so that people of my constituency and other adjoining districts will get benefit of it,” he said

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag off the train from New Delhi on January 25.
