Srinagar: Acknowledging that SKIMS is facing a reduction in its powers, Chiem Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that this independent body is being cut down to size, putting people’s lives at risk.
Engineering wing is no longer under SKIMS’ control and recently it faced electric faults
during which patients faced great hardships, he said.
I urge the concerned minister to restore the autonomy of SKIMS, Abdullah said adding,
SKIMS also faces procurement issues, causing delays in the availability of essential items.
“Recruitment is another significant challenge, as no new staff has been hired in multiple sections for the last 10 years. The nursing department is particularly strained due to a lack of staff”, CM said.
