MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah lays foundation for Chichlora, Lalpora playgrounds

Srinagar: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah today laid the foundation stone for the development of the Chichlora and Lalpora playgrounds, enhancing sports infrastructure in the constituency.

The Chichlora playground, set to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.19 crore, is being executed by the Sports Council of Jammu & Kashmir. This initiative will provide much-needed recreational and sporting opportunities to local youth and contribute to the growth of sports in the area.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gulmarg, Tehsildars of Kunzer & Karhama, and Block Development Officer (BDO) Lalpora were present on the occasion.

In addition to the sports infrastructure development, MLA Shah inaugurated a new Shawl Showroom in Wahipora, Tangmarg, aimed at boosting local craftsmanship and supporting the area’s economy. This new venture will offer an exclusive platform for showcasing exquisite local shawls and attract customers from across the country.

Later in the day, MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah held a public durbar at Kunzer, where he interacted with residents and listened to their concerns. He assured the public that their issues would be addressed on a priority basis, reaffirming his commitment to working towards the betterment of the community.
