The Minister issued these directions during a meeting of officers from the Poonch district and other senior officers from various departments of the Jammu division.

He stressed the urgent need for inclusive development that reaches every region and sub-region of J&K, particularly areas that have long been neglected.

While reaffirming the government’s commitment towards ensuring progress in far-flung areas, Rana said that it is the earnest effort of the elected government to ensure that the benefits are accrued to the last man.

Javed Rana called for enhancing both the level of sophistication and the speed of implementation of beneficiary-oriented schemes and directed the officers to work in a coordinated manner for speedy delivery of services.

Earlier, several deputations and individuals today called on the Minister and apprised him of their demands and grievances.

A delegation from Samba engaged in the Jal Shakti Department as daily wagers apprised the Minister about their issues and sought early redressal of the same. They demanded the release of their long pending wages for several months.

Another delegation of daily wagers demanded the implementation of the Minimum Wages Act in Jammu and Kashmir for daily rated workers.

Similarly, another delegation from Sidhra led by former Corporator, Shama Akhter also called on the Minister and thanked him for resolving the issue of water supply in their area.

The Minister gave patient hearing to all the delegations and individuals and assured an early redressal of their genuine demands and issues. He said that the issues projected by them would be taken up with the concerned departments for immediate redressal.

In some cases, the Minister also gave on spot instructions to the concerned officers for redressal of the grievances.
