DC Sgr inspects Skill Development & Rehabilitation Centre at Sanat Nagar

SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today undertook a visit to the Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center at Sanat Nagar to oversee the facilities being made at the Centre for youth affected by substance abuse.

The DC also took stock of the measures being taken for additional infrastructure development and upgradation works for the establishment of a Skill Development & Rehabilitation Centre for Youth affected by substance abuse for their reintegration into society.

On the occasion, the DC said the aim of the proposed Skill Development & Rehabilitation Centre for Youth affected by substance abuse is to provide comprehensive Rehabilitation services including imparting requisite skill training related to different market-oriented trades to the affected youth to enable them to get maximum skilling opportunities and enhanced job opportunities/placement so that they earn their livelihood with dignity and honour.

On the occasion, the DC stressed on ensuring proper utilization of the Centre in collaboration with Social Welfare, Health and IMHANS to achieve the aim of the said centre.

DC also directed the executive agency R&B, to fix fixtures and other equipment required for running the said center at eathe rliest.

During the visit, the DC passed directions for shifting the dead stock as well as other material dumped in the rooms at the earliest so that centre is made functional fully.

The DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Incharge Drug De-Addiction Centre GMC, Srinagar and other concerned.
