Power shutdown alert for Nov 27: Areas in Budgam District to face outages

Srinagar, November 25: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of Budgam district on November 27, 2024, to facilitate infrastructure upgrades under the PMDP (U) scheme.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown is required to carry out the erection of an 11-meter-long ST pole, transfer conductors from wooden poles to existing ST poles, cable taping, lifting, jumpering works, and insulator fittings at Wathoora.

As a result, the 33KV Nowbugh-Chadoora line will be non-operational during this time. This will affect the 33/11KV receiving stations at Chadoora, Panzan, and Ranger, leading to power disruptions in the following areas: Sogam, Ropora, Chadoora Town, Wathoora, Budgam, Dawlatpora Hospital, Gudsuthoo, Panzan, Lalgam, Ranger Kuthair, Gund.

The power supply will remain suspended between 10:00 AM and 05:00 PM on the scheduled date.

KPDCL has urged residents in the affected areas to take necessary precautions and plan accordingly to minimize inconvenience.
