GTWJA holds meeting in Tangmarg

Gulmarg: The Gulmarg Tangmarg Working Journalists Association (GTWJA) held a pivotal meeting in Tangmarg today, under the leadership of its President, B.A. Sagar.

The gathering was attended by all members of the association, with a focused agenda to discuss pressing issues impacting journalists and the broader community.

The meeting highlighted several critical areas, including strategies to ensure journalists’ safety and uphold press freedom in the region. Members emphasized the association’s role in addressing public concerns, advocating for local issues, and fostering ethical journalism to counter misinformation.

GTWJA also discussed measures to strengthen collaboration with local authorities, aiming to facilitate smoother and more effective news coverage.

President B.A. Sagar stressed the importance of maintaining journalistic integrity and reaffirmed that GTWJA is an exclusive body comprising professional working journalists. He underscored that the association does not include any “self-styled journalists,” thereby reinforcing its commitment to credibility and authenticity in journalism.

The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to uphold journalistic values and work diligently for the betterment of journalism and the community it serves.
