During his visit, the Minister reviewed the power infrastructure and other facilities available to the public in Baramulla. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Managing Director KPDCL, Kashmir, Mussarat-ul-Islam and other district and sectoral officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that augmentation of Receiving Station Chakloo from 6.3 MVA to 2X 6.3 MVA will benefit 2339 households in various areas including Ladoora, Chakloo, Nadihal and other parts of Baramulla district. He said that the total capacity available has been increased from 330 amp to 660 amp after augmentation.

The Minister said that the government has projected a demand for an additional 350 MW power supply to meet the demand during the winter season. He added that 200 units of free electricity, as promised by the government, will be made available to the people soon.

Javid Dar emphasized the need for upgrading power infrastructure to ensure quality and scheduled electricity supply to consumers across Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the public to use electricity judiciously and avoid unnecessary heating gadgets to prevent load-shedding issues.

During his visit, various public delegations met with the Minister and raised their demands.

The Minister assured them that their genuine issues would be taken up with the relevant authorities for timely resolution.
