Srinagar: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) Wednesday detained a student of Lab Science for allegedly posting what the CIK called, “radical propaganda, aimed to instigate common people against the Govt of India.”
The student, currently pursuing his master’s, was identified as Bhat Navidul Ali, son of Ali Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Tazipora-Mohammadpora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam, said CIK in an official communique.
It said that the student “glamorized terrorism” on his social media handles while being in constant touch with some cyber or virtual entities “who are radicalizing and motivating the youth to join militant ranks”.
The student, as per CIK, “also consumes the radical content available on the Internet.”
He was about to join the militant ranks, the CIK said, adding that a team of CIK sleuths apprehended Bhat Navidul Ali for questioning even his parents and neighbours have been called for counselling.
