Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah greet people on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Jayanti

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj’s Jayanti also known as Guru Purab.

Greeting people especially the Sikh brethren on the auspicious eve, Party President said, that Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj stood against the scourge of caste division and religious discrimination. He voiced for the oppressed and underprivileged.

“I greet people especially our Sikh Brethren on the observance of the birthday of the revered Guru Ji. May the day increase the prospects of peace and brotherhood in J&K and further the cause of camaraderie,” he said. 

Party Vice President Omar Abdullah said, “Guru Nanak’s teachings for an honest, truthful and virtuous life continue to guide humanity. His message inspires us to embrace equality and compassion, Happy Guru Purab.” 

General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, party Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Showkat Mir, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Party MPs Mian Altaf Ahmad, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Minority Wing Organizer Sardar Jagdish Singh Azad have also extended warm greetings to people praying for their wellbeing and peace to the entire humankind.
