Srinagar: Police in Handwara claimed to have busted a gang involved in a series of thefts and recovered stolen property worth lakhs from their possession.
Acting on a complaint of theft in a godown at Kulangam, police picked up one Ishfaq Ahmad Beigh, son of Habibullah Beigh from Kulangam. His arrest led to the identification and arrest of three additional suspects — Umer Bin Wali, son of Wali Mohammad Payer of Highama, Kupwara; Danish Khaliq Ganie, son of Abdul Khaliq Ganie of Neelipora, Magam; and Adil Ahmad Chopan, son of Habibullah Chopan, resident of Nagri Hatmullah.
Stolen property valued in lakhs was also recovered from these burglars, police said.
