Srinagar: Two foreign terrorists were on Wednesday killed in separate encounters in north Kashmir’s Bandipora and Kupwara districts, officials said.
Quoting officials, news agency KNO reported that on the basis of specific inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the woods of Lolab Kupwara and Ketson Bandipora, joint operations were launched in these areas by Army, CRPF and special wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
In the ensuing operations, two terrorists were killed – one each in Bandipora and Kupwara. “We recovered an M4 rifle from the killed terrorist in Bandipora, and an AK series rifle from slain foreigner at Lolab Kupwara,” officials said.
“The operation has successfully concluded, resulting in elimination of one terrorist and recovery of 01 AK rifle, 02 Hand Grenades, 4 AK magazines, ambition and other war-like stores,” Indian Army – Chinar Corps posted on X about the Lolab encounter.
Regarding Bandipora operations, the Army said that “one terrorist has been eliminated by the security forces”.
It’s noteworthy, that earlier on November 01, a brief exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces at Panar forest area of Bandipora, however, terrorists managed to flee from the scene, which was followed by the large-scale combing operation by joint teams of security forces.
