BUDGAM: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Masood today visited district Budgam and took an overall assessment of the developmental profile of the district.
During the visit, the Minister chaired a high-level meeting with senior officers of district administration and reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects in the district.
The meeting was attended by MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar; MLA Beerwah, Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani; Director of School Education Kashmir, Director Colleges, Director Health Services Kashmir, district officers of all departments, heads of all engineering wings and other officers of the district administration.
During the meeting, the Minister held a department-wide review and took a detailed appraisal of ongoing works under different schemes and projects in these departments.
Addressing the officers during the meeting, the Minister remarked that the present government is a people’s government and is totally committed towards the welfare of the public. “Our government is the people’s government and we are committed to their welfare and answerable to them at every step,” Sakeena Masood said.
“Facilitate the public at each level and solve their issues and problems with sincerity and dedication in a prompt manner,” she said.
While reviewing the health sector in the district, the Minister directed the concerned CMO for the early takeover of the new building at CHC Chattergam from the executing agency. She took strong note of lackadaisical approach of district administration towards this matter and directed the concerned officers to solve this issue promptly.
She also called upon the concerned officers to establish all basic facilities in the CHC for the public good.
Similarly, Sakeena Masood also reviewed the progress of different works in Jal Shakti, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Education and other departments. She directed the officers to work with zeal and zest so that ongoing works under various projects and schemes are taken to their logical end. She highlighted that these projects are crucial for enhancing the district’s overall growth and improving the living standards of locals here.
Sakeena Masood reaffirmed that the present dispensation is committed for empowering the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. “Our focus remains on creating opportunities for all, especially for women, youth and marginalized communities. We want to ensure that every resident, irrespective of their background, benefits from our government schemes.”
Meanwhile, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Masood visited Chadoora area of district Budgam and took stock of healthcare facilities in the area.
During her visit, the Minister inspected Community Health Centre (CHC) Chattergam, Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora and took stock of medical care facilities available for locals there. She also inspected Government Degree College (GDC) Chadoora and reviewed its functioning.
MLA Chadoora, Ali Mohammad Dar; MLA Beerwah, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani; Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director Colleges and other senior officers of line departments also accompanied the Minister during the visit.
At CHC Chattergam, the Minister evaluated the availability of medical services, infrastructure and staff strength. She took round of CHC and inspected general wards, emergency wards and other units of the hospital.
The Minister interacted with the doctors, and paramedical staff at the CHC and directed them to provide the best quality healthcare services to the patients.
“Health is paramount for every individual and therefore it is imperative upon us to provide quality healthcare services to the public, particularly in rural areas,” Sakeena Masood said.
She directed the hospital administration to ensure the availability of all essential medicines, equipment as well as medical staff. She also directed the CHC administration to follow the duty roster in letter and spirit so that the desired staff and doctors are available 24*7 to meet any exigency.
The Minister also interacted with patients, and attendants at CHC and took on spot feedback from them about the status of health care services being provided at the centre.
She also interacted with locals on the occasion, who raised various issues and concerns before the Minister. The Minister assured them that all of their genuine demands and issues will be redressed promptly.
Meanwhile, the Minister also inspected Sub-district Hospital (SDH) Chadoora and reviewed the hospital’s infrastructure, patient care services as well as its emergency response mechanism.
Later, Sakeena Masood also visited GDC Chadoora and reviewed its functioning. She inspected lecture halls, library and other sections of the college. She interacted with the faculty members, staff and students to understand their concerns and suggestions for improving the college’s overall performance.
The Minister emphasized the importance of providing quality education, particularly in rural areas. She directed the college administration to focus on enhancing academic standards, improving infrastructure and promoting extracurricular activities.
During the visit, Sakeena Masood also inspected the proposed site of GDC Chadoora. She directed the officers of executing agency to undertake the works at the earliest for timely completion of this new project.
