Srinagar: Authorities were alerted on Sunday after a dead body was seen floating in the River Jhelum near the cement bridge in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The body was recovered by local residents and later handed over to the police. The body was later identified as being of one Abdul Hameed Saraf, son of Ghulam Mustafa Saraf, a resident of Tawheed Gunj, Old Town Baramulla.  Saraf, news agencies reported, was working in the PHE Department.
