Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Awantipora and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Thursday.
He said during checking near EDI Pampore, police intercepted a vehicle (HR26CK-0579) with three persons on board. During checking, two bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from their possession.
Identified as Shabir Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Rasool Shah of Tanchabagh Pampore; Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Aziz Sheikh of Namblabal Pampore, and Haris Younis, son of Younis Saleem of Hawal, the trio was arrested and case registered for further investigation.
