During the meeting, it was divulged that during the current financial year a Margin Money to the tune of Rs 17.24 crore has been released for the establishment of 569 units creating employment opportunities for 3414 persons under the PMEGP/JKREGP schemes as on 22.10.2024.

The chairperson stressed the need for active involvement of field officers in propagating and disseminating the aims and objectives of JKREGP and PMEGP Schemes among all sections of the society.

Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat advised the district officers to keep regular follow up of the cases at bank level and ensure that instances of bank rejection are minimized.

Referring to the lower uptake of schemes in certain districts viz Reasi and Ramban, Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat directed the district officers to adopt a mission-oriented approach and organize localized awareness and sensitization campaigns to encourage more individuals to establish income-generating ventures.

She asked the District officers to work in close coordination with banks and allied agencies to ensure maximum participation of youth and aspirants.

Later, the Chairperson convened a meeting of officers and stakeholders of the under-implementation cluster of the Jammu division.

She stressed upon the stakeholders to coordinate and ensure the establishment of clusters in a time-bound manner, as the implementation of Jammu Based Bee-Keeping clusters has already been delayed.
