 2 drug peddlers held in Ganderbal

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.

He said two suspicious persons were arrested at Khan Mohallah Bund in Shadipora after 10.2 kgs of dried-mashed bhung with seeds and tops and 368 grams of bhung powder (cannabis) were recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Rizwan Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Hassan Khan, and Sahil Ahmad Khan, son of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, both residents of Khan Mohalla.

Rizwan Ahmad Khan later led the police to another consignment of drugs he had stashed at home. At his behest 2 Kgs and 796 grams of ‘bhung patri’ was recovered from his residential house.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered for further investigation, police said.
