Srinagar: J&K Peoples’ Conference (JKPC) president Sajad Gani Lone Tuesday said that people of Jammu & Kashmir are fighting for “weakest-ever” Assembly today, which will have no powers.
Speaking to reporters in north Kashmir’s Kupwara, Lone said though it is good to vote and elect representatives after a gap of over ten years, but at the same time it is a reality that there is an element of humiliation.
“I have already said that it is a moment of happiness that people will get their elected representatives through ballot exercise, but at the same time it is a reality that there is an element of humiliation. When we fought past elections we were fighting for a powerful assembly, but today we are fighting for a weakest-ever assembly, a powerless assembly,” Lone said.
He however appealed to the electorate to vote for his party, and make the Peoples’ Conference winner.
