Srinagar: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh Tuesday said that going by the voters’ participation there were “clear indications that the BJP will script new history” in Jammu & Kashmir.

Chugh expressed satisfaction over the turn-out in the third and last phase of assembly polls in J&K, stating that huge participation of people was a slap on the face of NC, PDP and Congress. He said that BJP will form the government after October 8 in J&K and the first priority will be to provide jobs to the youth of J&K.

“I am glad to see huge voter participation across the board in the UT today. This is a slap on the face of NC, Congress, and PDP who used to win through boycott politics. Today, people have expressed their faith in democracy by coming out in large numbers to cast ballots,” Chugh said, adding that “It is BJP who will form government after October 8 in J&K and our first priority will be to provide jobs to youth.”

He said that people of J&K have spoken and their voices have been heard loud and clear. “Today, we celebrate a monumental shift in the state’s electoral landscape, as the boycott politics of the past give way to massive voter participation.”

He thanked people for voting in large numbers, saying, “This is a testament to the restored faith in democracy, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.”

“The rigging of the 1987 election had left a deep scar on the people’s trust in the democratic process. However, under PM Modi’s leadership, the faith of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in BR Ambedkar’s Constitution has been revitalized,” he said, and added, “This is not just a victory for our party, but for democracy itself.”

He said that today the people of north Kashmir came out in large numbers to exercise their right to vote, “demonstrating their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts” over the past decade.

“This overwhelming participation is a testament to the trust reposed in the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Prime Minister’s vision for Jammu and Kashmir’s future.”

The BJP leader said that PM Modi’s leadership has played a pivotal role in “strengthening democracy” in the region. His emphasis on grassroots democracy has brought about a significant shift, with the successful establishment of a three-tier Panchayati Raj System. This development has paved the way for more effective governance and representation, he said.

He said that the ongoing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir mark a crucial milestone in the region’s journey towards stability and progress. “With voter turnout being high, it’s clear that the people are invested in shaping their future,” he added.
