Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference senior leader and Member of Parliament from Anantnag, Mian Altaf Ahmad Tuesday addressed an election rally at Kalaroos Block in the Kupwara Constituency.

The event was organized by the party’s Provincial President and contesting candidate from Kupwara, Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami.

In his address, Mian Altaf urged everyone to see through the deceptive tactics of the BJP and its allies, who are attempting to manipulate votes and undermine the true representation of the people of Kashmir. He highlighted the fact that in the last parliamentary election, a certain individual garnered sympathy votes by falsely promising release and acquittal from all charges – a decision that only the court has the authority to make.

“It is unjust that while many others are unjustly imprisoned under draconian laws, only a select few are granted freedom. This selective release is a deliberate ploy to weaken our collective voice. New Delhi’s agenda is clear – they want to divide us. But we must rise above their divisive tactics and unite under the banner of the NC. Any misstep now will have far-reaching consequences for future generations. Let us show our strength, intelligence, and unity by voting for the NC and safeguarding the future of Kashmir,” he said.

Exposing the false propaganda of the BJP regarding tribunals, he emphasized that little has been done for Gujjars over the years. “The BJP claims to champion the rights of the Gujjars, but where are the forest rights they promised? Why the delay? We see through this deception and refuse to be fooled. Any vote against the NC will only empower BJP and their allies.”

The National Conference, as Nasir stated, has consistently served as a stronghold against those who aim to undermine our identity and rights. “Despite facing immense challenges and being targeted by adversaries, we have never wavered from our core principles. Today, I can confidently affirm that as long as the power remains in the hands of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, our authentic voice cannot be silenced. Your vote has always been a symbol of strength, but in this election, it carries the weight of our collective destiny. This election is not just another routine event – it is an opportunity to steer our path in the right direction, to send a clear message that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will not be divided, silenced, or overlooked. The fragmented outcomes of previous elections have led us to a critical juncture, but with unity, we have the power to rise once more. This is a pivotal moment for us to stand together, to show our unwavering resolve, and to shape our future with determination. Let us seize this opportunity to make our voices heard, to make our presence felt, and to pave the way for a stronger, more united Jammu and Kashmir. Together, we can overcome any obstacle and emerge victorious,” he said.
