Kulgam: A fire broke out on Sunday evening, damaging two houses and two cowsheds in the Ashmuji village of Kulgam district.
A fire and emergency official confirmed that two houses and two cowsheds were affected in the incident. The properties belong to Gull Mohammad Dar (house), Ali Mohammad Dar (house and cowshed), and Ab Aziz Dar (cowshed).
The official added that a loss assessment report will be prepared to evaluate the extent of the damage.
Local resident Aasif Reyaz told Kashmir Images that the fire started in the evening, and as it spread, both locals and fire tenders worked together to bring the flames under control.
He noted that the houses were abandoned, as they were old structures with no one residing in them at the time of the incident.
“So far, the cause of the fire remains unknown,” he added.
