Bandipora: Former legislator and senior Congress leader Nizamuddin Bhat on Thursday filed his nomination papers for Bandipora seat for the upcoming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to details available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), after addressing a massive workers gathering at his official residence, Nizamuddin Bhat reached mini secretariat Bandipora to file his nomination papers for Bandipora seat that will vote in the third phase of J&K polls on October 1.

Nizamuddin Bhat is contesting the election as an alliance candidate of the National Conference and Congress, as the constituency has been allotted to Congress in the seat sharing pact.

Bhat on Wednesday joined the Congress after hectic deliberations with the alliance partners. Bhat Bhat joining the grand old party is seen as major boost with the seat being jointly contested by the National Conference and Congress.

Bhat was already seen as a major contender for Bandipora constituency with mass following that has been growing over the weeks—(KNO)
