Govt imposed civic polls in an unfavorable situation: Tarigami
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Kulgam: CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami said on Sunday that his competition is with the BJP and its proxies, who do not step forward on their own but push their “stepneys” (supporters or substitutes) ahead.

Tarigami was addressing rallies in the Kulgam constituency, including Yaripora, HS Bugh, Matibugh, Pandithpora, Nonmaie, Zaban, and Matipora.

Tarigami said that the areas that have joined the Kulgam constituency after delimitation include Yaripora and others, adding that there is great passion and enthusiasm among the people.

“The old areas are also mine. People are people, and what do they want? They want a better life. They want an end to unemployment, which is ruining their lives and future, and we are committed to doing our best to help them,” he said.

Criticizing the BJP, Tarigami said, “The Home Minister has questioned the Congress. I have only one question: where is your report card? They have insulted us, violated our rights, and disrespected Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. What message do they have for the unemployed youth? They made promises about MSP (Minimum Support Price). Where are those promises? They promised us electricity, yet they’ve done the opposite, taking away what little we have. We’re simply asking for our share.”

Tarigami further criticized the BJP for holding a sit-in in the region, saying, “During the parliamentary elections, they said the lotus would bloom here. The lotus was already in Dal Lake and will remain, but they failed to make it bloom elsewhere.”

Tarigami said that the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are the decision-makers. They know which face they trust, and they understand the difference between what was said yesterday and today. “We will wait for the people’s verdict in the elections,” he added.
