Dr Farooq welcomes BJP leader Shahzad Ahmed Khan into NC

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah Friday welcomed senior BJP leader and Pahari in-charge from Chittak Poonch, Shahzad Ahmed Khan, along with dozens of his workers and several sarpanches, into Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC).

The group also met with Omar Abdullah, with both leaders extending a warm welcome to them. Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah expressed their hopes that the joining would work toward the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as strengthen the leadership and presence of the National Conference in the region. Additional General Secretary Mustafa Kamal was also present at the occasion, further emphasizing the significance of this political move.

Later, Dr Farooq visited the bereaved family of Farooq Ahmad Shah, the National Conference candidate from Tangmarg, following the tragic death of his nephew, Haziq Hilal of Hardushora Tangmarg, in a road accident.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah expressed deep grief and sorrow over the untimely loss of Haziq Hilal, offering prayers for peace to his departed soul. He also extended heartfelt condolences to Haziq Hilal’s parents during this difficult time.

He was accompanied by Additional General Secretary Dr. Mustafa Kamal and Khwaja Mohammad Yaqoob Wani of Sangrama, along with local National Conference leaders who were also present to offer their support and sympathy to the family.
