  Police Observer conducts extensive tour of Shopian District

SHOPIAN: Ravi D Channannavar, Police Observer for Shopian today continued his tour of Shopian district to oversee security issues of elections and other related public grievances and problems.

Today, the Observer visited Shopian town polling stations located at ITI, GDC and Static Surveillance Team nakas to take stock of security arrangements ahead of Assembly elections, scheduled on September,18 in the district.

The Police Observer, since his arrival in the district, has visited all five Police Stations, and police posts of the district along visiting the 178BN CRPF camp, Reshipora Minority Picket, and Dobijan Army Camp to review security measures. He also engaged with district and police administration and assessed the arrangements.

Earlier, the Observer has visited various polling stations of the district including at Hermian, Degree College, Zainapora and others.

Police Observer highlighted the need for robust coordination between different security agencies to address any potential challenges during the election period.

Police Observer also took stock of the district’s overall law and order situation and emphasized the readiness of the police force in terms of manpower, logistics, and resources.

Further, the observer instructed the officers to maintain high visibility in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that security checks and patrols are intensified.

The Police Observer also underscored the importance of community engagement and focused on public engagement by way of listening to the grievances of stakeholders and their resolution.

Police as well as security establishments were briefed regarding their role and responsibilities in the election process to neutralize any nefarious designs by anti-national elements to disrupt peace in the area for greater participation and for smooth conduct of elections in both the Constituencies of the District.

The Police Observer was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian, Anayat Ali, besides all the Sub Divisional Police Officers (SDPO), and Station House Officers (SHO) of Shopian during the visits.
