Training sessions held for poll staff across Anantnag

ANANTNAG: A training session for the staff deployed to the General Election to Legislative Assembly J&K, 2024 in district Anantnag was held at the Dak Bungalow Khanabal.

The Training session was presided over by Expenditure Observers Tamil Selvam S and Debjyoti Chakravarty and was organised by the District Election Office headed by Dr Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, District Election Officer (DEO). The Nodal Officer (Training) coordinated the Training.

The training was held in order to familiarize Polling Staff with the necessary skills to carry out Election duties effectively. A range of officers and officials were imparted conceptual and hands-on training and included the Booth Level Officers, and Teams pertaining to the implementation of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee, Model Code of Conduct and Election Expenditure Monitoring among others.

The Expenditure Observers emphasised on meticulously training the personnel deployed on Election duties to familiarize the staff with the election process and get acquainted with the necessary knowledge and skills for effectively carrying out their duties during the electoral process.

The DEO on the occasion said that training enables officials to understand the election system and learn the handling and operation of various electoral procedures to ensure an error-free election process.

Similar training sessions were also held at six places for other Assembly constituencies of the District under the supervision of respective Nodal Officers designated during which the Master Trainers imparted hands-on training to the participants and acquainted them with the necessary knowledge of the electoral process.

Notably, the seven assembly segments of Anantnag District shall go to polls in the first phase of elections and the nomination process has started.
