Special Sports Activities under ‘My Youth My Pride’ concludes in south Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The three-day special sports extravaganza under the ‘My Youth My Pride’ initiative by the J&K Sports Council concluded with resounding success, bringing unparalleled excitement and energy to South Kashmir.

The event saw active participation across various districts, including Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, and Anantnag. Each day was filled with spirited competition, showcasing the talents of local youth in a wide array of sports.

Pulwama: The Sports Stadium in Pulwama was a hub of activity, with the final day featuring intense curling competitions. Badminton matches at the Indoor Stadium in Rajpora and basketball games at the playfield in Pampore were met with great enthusiasm, rounding off a successful series of events.

Shopian: Batpora’s Sports Stadium was the epicentre of high-octane hockey and wushu matches, with athletes displaying exceptional skill and sportsmanship. The volleyball tournament at Chitragam’s playfield also drew significant attention, concluding the events in Shopian on a high note.

Kulgam: The Indoor Sports Hall in Qaimoh witnessed the final rounds of kabaddi, attracting large crowds. Volleyball at the Mini Stadium in Kulgam continued to captivate audiences, while the chess competition at Kellam Boys Higher Secondary School provided a fitting end to the district’s activities.

Anantnag: The remote area of Larnoo Kokernag was energized by the final volleyball matches, while the kabaddi competition at Tickbagh Mattan and the chess battles at the Indoor Complex in Nilandrusu showcased the enthusiasm and talent of the youth.

As the ‘My Youth My Pride’ initiative concluded, the event successfully fulfilled its aim to inspire, engage, and uplift the youth through sports, promising a bright future for athletes in Jammu and Kashmir.
