Bla creates history with record 2.5km long Tricolour at Tiranga Rally

BARAMULLA: District Baramulla created history today as thousands of citizens from all walks of life united in Watergam Rafiabad for a Tiranga Rally, proudly carrying a 2.5-kilometre-long tricolour, the longest ever witnessed in the history of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, creating a powerful symbol of pride and patriotism for the entire community.

Led by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, the rally saw the participation of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A. Raina; Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Divya Dev, other civil and police administration officers, officials from all the departments, students, and local residents, creating an unforgettable spectacle of unity and national fervour.

The enthusiastic participants filled the air with patriotic emotion, carrying the national flag, chanting slogans, and singing national songs as they marched, paying tribute to the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and fallen heroes who gave their lives for the nation’s freedom.

On the occasion, the DC expressed deep gratitude to all the participants for taking part in the Tiranga Rally. The DC also praised the district and local administration especially ADC Sopore, SP Sopore and EO MC Watergam, for their exceptional efforts in successfully organising the record-making event.

Minga Sherpa further elaborated on the significance of the event and said, “What we’ve witnessed today is a testament to the strength of our democracy and the unity of our people. The participation of thousands of citizens, from school children to elderly residents, shows that our national spirit transcends age, background, and all other differences.”

The Tiranga Rally in Watergam stands as a testament to the region’s resilience, unity, and unwavering spirit of nationalism and serves as an inspiration for communities across the nation, showcasing how the tricolour continues to be a powerful unifying force, bringing people together as India celebrates its 78th Independence Day.
