DLSA Sgr organizes awareness prog at GBSS Jawaher Nagar

SRINAGAR: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, in collaboration with the School Education Department today organized an awareness programme at Govt. Boys Secondary School (GBSS), Jawaher Nagar Srinagar about the Fundamental Rights and Duties of Citizens.

The programme was held under the guidance of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman DLSA Srinagar (PDJ, Srinagar), and under the supervision of Jahangir Ahmed Bakshi, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Principal of Govt. Boys Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar Srinagar.

Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel and Panel lawyer DLSA Srinagar, were the resource persons who addressed the students, about the importance of knowing and exercising one’s fundamental rights and fulfilling their corresponding duties.

They were educated about the various rights under the Constitution, including the right to equality, freedom of speech and expression, right to life and liberty, and right to education.

The resource persons emphasized the significance of understanding and adhering to the fundamental duties of citizens, which include promoting harmony and national integration, protecting the environment, and upholding the Constitution.

The program culminated in an interactive session where students engaged in discussions and asked questions regarding the Fundamental Rights & Duties of Citizens. This collaborative approach fostered a more informed and proactive society, empowering individuals with the knowledge to exercise their rights and fulfill their duties effectively.

The awareness programme was attended by the Principal, Staff Members of School, officials, Assistant legal aid defense counsel, Panel Lawyers & Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar and students enthusiastically participated in the said programme.
