DDC Kupwara reviews scheme-wise progress under JJM

KUPWARA: In order to review scheme wise progress of Water Supply schemes approved under District Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Kupwara, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara today convened a meeting of concerned officers here at Meeting Hall in D.C Office Kupwara.

It was informed in the meeting that out of 157382 households, 126693 households have been connected with Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) in the district. It was also informed that 251 works in PHE Division Handwara, PHE Kupwara and SSD Tangdar were tendered, out of which work was started on 235 and 83 works have been completed so far.

Regarding status of Dug well works, it was informed that out of 14 works allotted in all 3 PHE Divisions of Kupwara district including SSD Tangdar, 10 works have been completed. 17 Bore-wells also stand completed in the district out of 37 allotted.

It was informed that under Electro-Mechanical Schemes, 30 schemes were allotted out of which 13 schemes have been completed.

On the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the officers to ensure completion of all ongoing works within the stipulated time frame. She fixed timelines for different ongoing projects and impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure completion of these works while sticking to these timelines.

While taking review of various bottlenecks coming in the way of implementation of JJM Schemes, the DDC asked the concerned officers to conduct joint inspection at the sites for resolving the issues on the spot so that the people do not suffer.

Reviewing the schemes commissioned under JJM, it was informed that 14 water supply schemes which were completed in the district have been commissioned. These schemes include WSS Machill, WSS Ganie Mohalla Mohigund Lalpora, WSS Darpora Lolab, WSS Gulgam Tangwari, WSS Athratoo, WSS Peer Khan Mohallah, WSS Menkal, WSS Magam B, WSS Shahnagri Khudi, WSS Trich, Transit Accommodation Kulangam, WSS Kundla, WSS Batlan and WSS Nechiyan Hajinar.

The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulic Circle Kupwara, CPO, DFOs, Executive Engineers of PHE, I&FC, PMGSY, R&B, AEEs and other concerned officers.
