ACB conducts awareness session at district headquarters

JAMMU: In observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, the Anti-Corruption Bureau organised an awareness cum interactive session at the district headquarters today. The event, led by SSP ACB Jammu-Samba-Kathua, Kulwant Singh Jasrotia, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal and various district officers.

ADC Ansuya Jamwal emphasised the critical nature of anti-corruption practices, urging all officers to lead by example and ensure these measures are rigorously implemented in their subordinate offices.

She underscored the importance of cultivating a culture of transparency in public service, encouraging officers to approach public grievances with patience and professionalism.

She further stressed the significance of adhering to Public Service Guarantee Act guidelines, noting their crucial role in upholding transparency and reinforcing anti-corruption efforts across the administrative spectrum.

SSP Kulwant Singh Jasrotia shed light on the challenges faced in combating corruption and urged district officers to address the issue at their respective levels. He advocated for a shift towards SMART Governance and advised officers to deal wisely with both real and fictitious charges. Jasrotia provided an exhaustive list of ways corruption finds support and methods to prevent it at its roots.

The SSP also outlined guidelines for officers when dealing with other officials and the public to minimise the scope of corruption. He concluded by emphasising that mitigating corruption requires persistent and multilateral efforts.

The session featured special presentations by ACB officials, including Deputy Director Prosecution Irshad Ahmad, DSP Sunny Gupta, and Inspector Bandeshwar Singh. They detailed the role and functions of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in combating corruption.
