Principal Secretary Culture chairs mega public darbar at Manasbal

GANDERBAL: Principal Secretary, Culture, Suresh Kumar Gupta, today chaired a mega public darbar at Manasbal Park in which a large number of locals from various areas like Safapora, Kundabal, Yangoora and Gratbal participated.

The event provided a platform for locals to voice their issues and grievances directly to the Principal Secretary.

The locals raised concerns on socio-economic infrastructure like widening of Pandach-Beehama Road, completion of Guzhama Bridge, establishment of Fire and Emergency Services in Sherpathri and Faak area, cold storage facility, women’s college, staff shortages in PHC Safapora and Kurhama.

DDC member Safapora, Ab Rashid highlighted critical issues like upgradation of Lar Canal, timber allocation, cleanliness of Manasbal Lake, provision of washrooms within Manasbal Park, rehabilitation of Kondabal residents, and addressing the challenges faced by Safapora stone quarry workers.

Market associations from Baroosa also demanded timely implementation of rehabilitation policy for shopkeepers affected by road widening.

During the interaction, the Principal Secretary assured that unresolved issues would be escalated to the concerned administrative Secretaries for prompt resolution.

Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir provided updates on various issues raided and directed the CEO to develop a comprehensive plan for the holistic development and ecological preservation of Manasbal Lake.

The DC also addressed the staff shortages in PHC Kurhama and Safapora and confirmed the formation of a committee to rehabilitate shopkeepers from Baroosa market.

Earlier, Suresh Kumar flagged off a Tiranga rally from Manasbal Park, attended by locals, students, and government officials.

Principal Secretary also led a Swachhta pledge and initiated a plantation drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and “Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam” campaigns, within the park premises, urging the public to plant more plants and to support the district administration’s cleanliness initiatives, particularly under the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada campaign.

The Principal Secretary also witnessed cultural performances presented by school children. He also distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries under Mission Youth and handed over cheques under the Higher Education Assistance Scheme of Labour Department, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to supporting the local community.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; ACR, SDM Kangan, CEO MDA, CPO, and other district and sectoral officers and large number of public were present on the occasion.
